Eloy, Arizona is in Pinal County. It lies between Tucson and Phoenix. The Southern Pacific Railroad built a switch in the area in the 1900s. They named the community Eloy, rather than using the initials for East Line of Yuma. At one-point developers wanted to name the area Cotton City, but because the railroad switch was already called Eloy and the mail was dropped there, the town name of Eloy was kept. The estimated population of the town is 17,442.
This small community has some fun things to take part in. Skydive Arizona is a place where you can skydive, or you can observe other people doing it. If you want to watch, have a little lunch as you are waiting, there are picnic tables available and there are restaurants on site. You can begin a new hobby, or do a one-time tandem jump just to experience jumping. If you want a different kind of adventure, you can check out Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch. You can do a monster truck tour at this family run business. Besides the ostriches, there are many different kinds of animals to see, including goats, bunnies, donkeys, and ducks. Although the ride on the monster truck might get a little bumpy at times as you go through the desert, you will be delighted with the animals and plant life you are able to observe. Golfers will enjoy the championship course at Robson Ranch Golf Club. The course is semi-private, and besides the challenging course for all levels of skill, there is a pro shop, practice facility, and restaurant.
The real estate in this small community included smaller homes as well as larger homes in the Santa Fe styles. Many of the homes are on large lots. The area is low in crime, and it has the small-town sense. Although there are not as many amenities as in a larger city, this historic area is close enough to other towns that there is always plenty of things to do. It is close to both Phoenix and Tucson, so the amenities found in larger cities are easily accessible. These things make this a must-see destination for home buyers searching for homes in the Phoenix area.
